Public Works
Public Works is responsible for cleaning and making minor repairs to the Town of Long View's streets and sidewalks, replacing street signs, picking up brush and junk, collecting leaves from the roadside with a vacuum during the season and clearing ice and/or snow from streets during the winter months.
Public Works is also responsible for repairs of water line breaks, installation of new water and sewer lines, the clearance of Town owned sewer lines, installation of water and sewer taps, and reading of residential and commercial water meters.
Yard waste and Leaf pick-up:
We can no longer pick up bags of leaves or yard waste. Beginning Monday February 27, 2023, yard waste, including leaves, will be picked up on Mondays year-round with the Leaf Truck. Please place yard waste and leaves near the curb by 7:00 am on Mondays for pickup. This is for leaves and grass clippings only. We will continue to pick up brush and limbs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The town provides a box truck for $75.00 per load to all residents and businesses within town limits for junk disposal on a first come first serve scheduling basis. If you would like to reserve it please call Town Hall at (828) 322-3921.
Long View policy states that when a contractor is hired to cut or trim trees on your property or when hired for remodeling a home or business, they are responsible for removal of brush or demolition debris.
